Pointing out common film and TV tropes is almost as much fun as the act of watching film and TV in the first place. I know it’s a well that I certainly return to now and then, but I can’t help it—some of these creative crutches and examples of storytelling shorthand become so ridiculous in their ubiquity that they just demand to be paraded around in all their glory.
