I used to think about this thing a lot about a decade ago—which of my favourite films would I like to see from an alternative perspective, and whose perspective would that be? Heat, but purely from Chris’ POV? The Godfather, but only from Vito’s POV? Collateral, but only ever from Fanning’s POV. Lost in Translation, but from the POV of the hotel staff, or Anna Faris?
