I understand what Edward Snowden did. I understand that he risked our national security by revealing to the American people the truth about how deeply the government and the NSA pries into our private lives. He weighed the security interests against our need to know, and while many may disagree with his decision, at least Snowden was thoughtful about why he did what he did.
Wikileaks, on the other hand, is evil. What Wikileaks is doing right now — the released a treasure trove of DNC emails, and now they have 15,000 more Clinton emails they plan to release — isn’t about transparency. It’s not about exposing secrets. It’s about politics. It’s about an agenda.
Now they have gone another step too far, according to the AP.
WikiLeaks’ global crusade to expose government secrets is causing collateral damage to the privacy of hundreds of innocent people, including survivors of sexual abuse, sick children and the mentally ill, The Associated Press has found.
This is not even like the Ashley Madison data breach, where supposed adulterers were outed and shamed for morally questionable decisions. The collateral damage outweighs transparency concerns.

The originally noble intentions of the organization have been corrupted by their agenda, although Wikileaks advocates and Trump supporters are quick to defend the organization, suggesting that the AP’s story is a cover, an excuse for the media not to report on the Clinton emails, most of which will be released by the FBI, anyway.
@ThomasPaine5 @jaraparilla @AP @wikileaks The media will use this as justification to not cover ANYTHING that comes from Wikileaks.

Coincidence? Clinton faces urgent release of thousands more emails. @AP launches attack on @wikileaks. Is that old Turkish story again?

I don’t like that Wikileaks is getting involved in politics. I don’t like that an organization this powerful can wield so much influence over our election. This is not that, however. This is just wrong.
