The Woman Accusing Trump of Raping Her at 13 Was Bullied Into Canceling Her Press Conference Today

Today, Wednesday, November 2nd, at 3pm Pacific Time, the woman accusing Donald Trump of raping her when she was thirteen years old was scheduled to speak to these accusations for the first time publicly at a press conference.

Instead, she cancelled the conference at the last minute. Her lawyer, Lisa Bloom (the daughter of famed women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred), told the room of reporters that the woman, still going by the aliases Jane Doe and Katie Johnson, was too afraid to speak.

Jane Doe has received numerous threats today, as have all the Trump accusers that I have represented. She is living in fear. She has decided that she is too afraid to show her face. She has been here all day, ready to do it, but unfortunately, she’s in terrible fear. So we’re going to have to reschedule. I apologize to all of you who came.

Katie Johnson (or Jane Doe) has now filed three lawsuits against Trump. One, in California earlier this year, was dismissed for improperly stated statutes, and her New York civil suit is still ongoing. The updated California complaint was filed September 30th. Here’s what Trump is being accused of.

(From here on, trigger warning of descriptions of sexual assault.)

Plaintiff was subject to acts of rape, sexual misconduct, criminal sexual acts, sexual abuse, forcible touching, assault, battery, intentional and reckless infliction of emotional distress, duress, false imprisonment, and threats of death and/or serious bodily injury by the Defendants that took place at several parties during the summer months of 1994.

The new suit also includes two witnesses, Joan and Tiffany Doe. The former was a classmate of Jane and the latter was an employee of Jeffrey Epstein, the host of these parties.

Plaintiff was enticed by promises of money and a modeling career to attend a series of parties, with other similarly situated minor females, held at a New York City residence that was being used by Defendant Jeffrey Epstein. At least four of the parties were attended by Defendant Trump.

If you’re not familiar with Jeffrey Epstein, is a supremely wealthy financier who went to jail for soliciting a then 14-year-old girl for prostitution, and was accused of raping, assaulting, and trafficking dozens of other girls.

Oh, unless you ask Donald Trump. Then Epstein is just a stand-up guy who likes children the ladies. He said this in 2002, eight years after Jane Doe’s rape and four years before Epstein’s arrest.

“‘I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,” Trump booms from a speakerphone. ‘He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.’”

Earlier today, Dustin put together a round up of some of the worst things happening around this election that are in no way normal or acceptable. Let’s add this to the list. Because this is not normal. For a presidential candidate to be accused of raping a barely teenaged girl, what kind of world is this?

And for that woman, now more than twenty years later, to have to relive that young trauma because she can’t bear to see her rapist be elected president— for her to be bombarded with such vile hate that she’s afraid to show her face, that’s not normal. Unfortunately, it has become common, and no one can blame her. Because we know— we’ve seen it— that as soon as she showed her face or gave her real name, she would be doxxed, and her life would, in fact, be at risk.

That’s not normal.

To everyone dismissing Trump’s Access Hollywood tape as “just words” or “locker room talk,” and those who don’t see the big deal in a butt grab or an uninvited kiss on the mouth— I don’t understand you, but I want to know— is this different to you? It has to be, right? But if you really didn’t care about his words or his groping, I have to think you’ve deluded yourself into forgetting any of these women are human beings worthy of being listened to, let alone respected.

How did we get to a place where this man is an email leak away from the presidency? THIS man. Remember, “Plaintiff” was a thirteen year-old child.

Defendant Trump initiated sexual contact with Plaintiff at four different parties. On the fourth and final sexual encounter with Defendant Trump, Defendant Trump tied Plaintiff to a bed, exposed himself to Plaintiff, and then proceeded to forcibly rape Plaintiff. During the course of this savage sexual attack, Plaintiff loudly pleaded with Defendant Trump to stop but with no effect. Defendant Trump responded to Plaintiff’s pleas by violently striking Plaintiff in the face with his open hand and screaming that he would do whatever he wanted. Immediately following this rape, Defendant Trump threatened Plaintiff that, were she ever to reveal any of the details of the sexual and physical abuse of her by Defendant Trump, Plaintiff and her family would be physically harmed if not killed.

How is he the one who’s not afraid to show his face?
