Quite a few rogue Twitter accounts have popped up in recent days, in the wake of the National Parks Service creating an alternate account after Donald Trump shut the official one down. Honestly, we have no idea which ones are real and which ones are not, and given the surreal nature of our current administration, the tweets supposedly coming from within the government all sound plausible.
Is this fake news? Alternative facts? Or anonymous civil servants joining the resistance? Honestly, we have no idea, but some of the tweets we are seeing sound both insane and all too possible.
Here’s a few examples from the various rogue accounts, and it’s worth stressing again that these are not verified, so take whatever you see with a giant grain of salt (that said, the alt accounts for NASA, the USDA, the NIH, and EPA are almost certainly real. The ones inside the White House? I dunno.)
We’ll begin with this anecdote from Bill Clinton’s former Secretary of Labor, which is real. It sets the tone.
Here’s a response from Rogue Potus Staff.
@SarahJTV4 Let's just say POTUS has no idea how alone he really is. Even friends are not necessarily his friends. Everyone knows but him.— Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) January 27, 2017
Here’s a few more from the Rogue POTUS Staff.

POTUS strategy on wall tax is to hurt Mexican economy, force them to surrender and foot bill. He knows the tax will never pay for the wall.— Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) January 27, 2017

Real concern starting to emerge that POTUS not even acting as he believes best, just for spite. Ex: gutting EU data law because Obama.— Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) January 26, 2017

Pres. Trump doesn't quite understand the difference between being POTUS and being a business owner. Keeps asking "who says I can't?"— Rogue POTUS Staff (@RoguePOTUSStaff) January 26, 2017
This is my favorite, because it’s insane, but also, I 100 percent believe it could be true.

Meanwhile, there was a White House Leaks account, but it was quickly shut down, but not before several screenshots were captured. This is a treasure trove. You’ll need to click the link to read them all, but here’s a taste.
