Rudy Giuliani did a solid 45 minutes on Chris Cuomo’s CNN show this morning, and you guys? He’s not very good at this.
To wit: While Donald Trump was on Twitter doubling down on an unfounded Fox News talking point — that there was an Obama spy inside the Trump campaign — Giuliani was telling Cuomo that they don’t actually know that.
Here’s Trump:
“Apparently the DOJ put a Spy in the Trump Campaign. This has never been done before and by any means necessary, they are out to frame Donald Trump for crimes he didn’t commit.” David Asman @LouDobbs @GreggJarrett Really bad stuff!

Here’s Giuliani:

Meanwhile, Giuliani got mighty perturbed with Chris Cuomo when Cuomo caught him in a contradiction. While Giuliani insists today that a President does not have to answer a subpoena to be questioned, back in 1998, he had a different view of the matter where it concerned Bill Clinton, as he told Charlie Rose at the time. Giuliani clearly does not care for being made a fool of on CNN:
It’s unfair! You’re not allowed to use my own words against me!
Meanwhile, Giuliani also stated that Mueller has agreed to narrow the scope of the questioning for Trump, which would actually indicate that the probe against the President is wrapping up. But again, this is Giuliani and there’s little reason to believe anything he says.
For what it’s worth, Guiliani also stated during the interview that the President is allowed to obstruct justice (as long as that President is Trump, and not some Democrat, was probably the unspoken context).
