Monica Crowley — a right-wing pundit and Fox News contributor who had been tapped as Senior Director of Strategic Communications at the National Security Council under National Security Adviser Michael T. Flynn — will no longer take a position in the White House.
Although Crowley is reframing the decision as one of her own (“I have decided to remain in New York to pursue other opportunities”), the reality is that she’s come under fire in recent weeks after it came to light that she plagiarized large portions of both her book and her PhD thesis. In fact, Harper Collins had withdrawn her book, What the (Bleep) Just Happened, after the plagiarism accusations came to light.
The Trump Administration had initially stood behind Crowley, but it appears that either Trump’s people forced her hand, or Crowley bowed out rather than face even more scrutiny.
This, by the way, is Monica Crowley.
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? Maybe plagiarize an actual history book next time, lady! https://t.co/2aRI0oms0v
