New York City is currently facing an influx of migrants. More than 100,000 migrants have attempted to receive care in NYC since the Spring of last year. Unfortunately, New York City is run by a corrupt, self-obsessed, forever cop who cares more about his appearance than the people of New York. Eric Adams has failed so badly at accommodating migrants that our billionaire-loving Governor, Kathy Hochul, criticized the job he was doing.
Now, being the petty, image-concerned, wannabe tyrant that he is, Eric Adams’s administration has sent out orders insisting departments in the government post a video favorable to the “work” Adams has done. In the email, agencies were told that Adams’s office would track who is and isn’t complying. Adams runs his office like an unsubtle mafia don, but he had plenty of practice as a Police Captain.
This issue is indicative of Adams’s time as mayor. He sees himself as above criticism. Again, he was (and is) a cop. Seeing just criticism as a baseless attack is in his blood. I also hate siding with Kathy Hochul. She is as much of a Secret Republican as Adams is. Kathy granting $600 million to the Bills for a new stadium and her forceful push of anti-abortion judge Hector LaSalle are more than enough evidence to that end.
Hochul is not wrong in saying that Adams and his administration have not done all that they can to help the people who need it. It’s, “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” That’s the attitude that New York City is about. Instead, Adams treats these people like a blight and an embarrassment.
NYC is one of the richest cities in the world. Under Adams, the richest here have gotten richer, and the poor have gotten poorer. It is no surprise that he is dragging his feet in helping migrants. They aren’t cops or landlords. Surprisingly, Adams thinks we would buy him lying about it. That isn’t going to happen.
