This morning, 49 people were killed in two mosques in New Zealand in a horrific act of violence perpetrated by a shooter clearly radicalized by social media. Soon after the shooting, the President of the United States offered his “best wishes.”
My warmest sympathy and best wishes goes out to the people of New Zealand after the horrible massacre in the Mosques. 49 innocent people have so senselessly died, with so many more seriously injured. The U.S. stands by New Zealand for anything we can do. God bless all!

Not 22 minutes later, Trump tweeted this:
The ‘Jexodus’ movement encourages Jewish people to leave the Democrat Party. Total disrespect! Republicans are waiting with open arms. Remember Jerusalem (U.S. Embassy) and the horrible Iran Nuclear Deal! @OANN @foxandfriends

That was followed by a series of screeching tweets about the Mueller report.
On the day that 49 people were murdered in a mosque — 22 minutes after tweeting about it! — Donald Trump made a calculated political ploy partially inspired by Islamophobia to reach out to Jews using a made-up term.
I am trying to temper my anger and frustration given the horrors of this morning, but it bears repeating: The killings that took place in the Mosque; that were committed in a Black church in South Carolina; that killed 11 in a synagogue in Pennsylvania; and that killed another 49 people in a mass shooting at an Orlando nightclub were all perpetrated by men who hated Jews, Black, Muslims, Hispanics, gay people and lesbians.
The religious beliefs of Jews and Muslims may differ, but along with a host of other marginalized groups, there is a common enemy, and that is white nationalism. The majority of mass shootings are carried out by white men, many of whom are aggrieved white nationalists, some of whom have even cited Donald Trump as an inspiration. Donald Trump, in his actions, in his words, and in his deeds, sympathizes with many of those white nationalists causes.
To say that the Democratic Party is imperfect is a wild understatement. But we all stand in solidarity against the common enemy of white nationalism, and for Trump to endeavor to elicit the support of Jews 22 minutes after tweeting about attacks on two Mosques is sickening. I don’t even know what else to say about that, except the President of the United States is attempting to take advantage of the very divisions the shooting this morning was designed to create.
While Democrats may not be able to agree on everything, we can all at least agree that Donald Trump is a rotten human being.
Close eyes and imagine any other politician saying “Jexodus” and the level of outrage that would ensue https://t.co/eO4mO9zf86

African Americans and Jews are not leaving the Democratic Party in large numbers. There is no BLEXIT or JEXODUS and the 2018 midterm elections proved that. I am vaccinated against gaslighting.

Again, “Jexodus” is the brainchild of two Trump campaign advisors, Jeff Ballabon and Bruce Abramson, and was formed two weeks ago for the sole purpose of going on tv so that Trump could tweet about them going on tv. It’s “spokesperson” is a MAGA-obsessive who was married at MaL. https://t.co/Ipw8GwWN5R

THERE IS NO JEXODUS MOVEMENT, YOU HATE FILLED PUSTULE. Stop fueling the hate. People are dying. People are taking your words as dog whistles to justify their murderous desires against those who don't look or pray like them. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Put down the damn phone and resign.

Also, dude … Jexodus?
you can tell #JEXODUS is fake because the term for a Jewish exodus would just be, well, exodus
— Ian Kaplan (@ijkcomputer) March 13, 2019
Finally an Exodus specifically for Jewish people

It’s like the “Exodus” from the Bible, only with Jews instead of Jews! https://t.co/4UpN9bevCl
