— Over on Politico, Stephen Miller and his immigration policies gained a vociferous critic in … Stephen Miller’s uncle.

I have watched with dismay and increasing horror as my nephew, who is an educated man and well aware of his heritage, has become the architect of immigration policies that repudiate the very foundation of our family’s life in this country.

Most damning is the administration’s evident intent to make policy that specifically disadvantages people based on their ethnicity, country of origin, and religion. No matter what opinion is held about immigration, any government that specifically enacts law or policy on that basis must be recognized as a threat to all of us. Laws bereft of justice are the gateway to tyranny. Today others may be the target, but tomorrow it might just as easily be you or me. History will be the judge, but in the meanwhile the normalization of these policies is rapidly eroding the collective conscience of America.

Omarosa has released another tape, this one purporting to be Donald Trump expressing (feigning?) surprise at her firing.

So, either Trump is lying and passing the buck to John Kelly because he was too afraid to take responsibility for his own White House, or John Kelly really was pulling all the strings and Trump’s say in personnel decisions in his own White House was minimal.

Let me just add this about Omarosa, based on a profile that Axios has from sources around her during her stint at the White House — “I’m scared shitless of her … I never said no to her … “One hundred percent, everyone was scared of her” — and it is this: She knew how to work these assholes. She wielded a lot of power, although she didn’t do shit with it, but she played the game as well as anyone in that White House. Reince and Spicer, by all accounts, were weak-willed pushovers, but Omarosa put herself in the room (hence, all these recordings), and no one said no to her. Hell, even Trump himself was clearly afraid to stand up to her.

Damn shame she didn’t use any of her power to overwhelm for good.

— Speaking of Omarosa, with her out, Kellyanne Conway is completely stumped in this brutal interview when asked who is now the most senior Black member of the West Wing.

Update: There it is, and is anyone surprised that Trump suggested another Black person isn’t smart?

For a better visual experience on Pajiba, henceforth images of Kellyanne Conway will be replaced by those of Winston Duke, who was #12 on this year’s Pajiba 10.
