Over the weekend, NBC suspended Today show personality Billy Bush for his role in the hot-mic tapes leaked to The Washington Post. Long-term, that’s probably going to be the end of Billy Bush at NBC. He’s probably not coming back, especially if the Page 6 story out yesterday is true. According to them, Bush not only knew about the tape — and never told NBC officials — but he was bragging about it to NBC staffers during the Olympics in August, saying something along the lines of, “There’s a tape with Trump being a real dog in it.” That apparently was the impetus for NBC to track down the tape, which was subsequently leaked to The Washington Post.
Meanwhile, Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell — the married woman to whom Trump was referring when he said he tried to “f*ck her,” but was rejected — has commented on the tape, saying “My name was mentioned and, unfortunately, the release of it has thrown me into the middle of the political arena of which I didn’t ask to be a part … There is no room for objectification of women, or anybody for that matter, not even in the ‘locker room.’”
Poor O’Dell. You may recall that back in 2005 — around the time that Donald Trump was caught on the hot mic — O’Dell’s one-time Access Hollywood co-host, Pat O’Brien, was caught up in scandal of his own, when a voice mail leaked of him repeatedly leaving sexually graphic recordings with a still anonymous woman. They’re gross.
Speaking of the hot-mic tape, this is probably not the end of it. NBC isn’t happy that it got out-scooped by The Washington Post on its own tape, so the network is now combing their files to see if they can find anything in the archives of The Apprentice. There’s a catch, however, because apparently MGM — and not Mark Burnett — owns the rights to unaired footage, and they are legally foreclosed from sharing them.
There are reportedly tapes from The Apprentice where Donald Trump drops the n-word.
Trump knows that there are more damaging tapes, too. In fact, at a Pennsylvania rally yesterday, Trump told the crowd that if any more tapes came out, he would “continue to talk about Bill and Hillary Clinton doing inappropriate things.” You don’t make that threat unless you know of more tapes. Also, Hillary Clinton nor her campaign have anything to do with those tapes or their leaks, but that means nothing to Trump, who is a spiteful, petty little man.
Also, finally, here’s some good news this morning.
