Jon Stewart Does Not Want to Hear Your Facile Right-Wing Talking Points

I hate to use the word “destroyed,” because it sounds like clickbait and it gamifies actual debate about actual issues that affect America, but good God does Jon Stewart destroy Oklahoma State Senator Nathan Dahm over Dahm’s proposed Oklahoma legislation that would remove gun regulations in the state. After Stewart sat down with the Arkansas Attorney General and embarrassed her last year over trans rights, I don’t know why any conservative would sit across from him. He does not tolerate their bullshit, the straw men, or their efforts to change the subject.

Stewart brings common sense to a gunfight, and politicians like Nathan Dahm cannot argue with common sense. They are hopeless. This is not a political debate. It is not about one side against another. It’s about common sense. Stewart relentlessly refutes every idiotic right-wing talking point this Second Amendment absolutist tries to throw at him. Dahm is left speechless. Will it change Dahm’s opinion? No, it will not, because people like Dahm do not abide by common sense.

But they really should prepare more before they agree to sit across from Jon Stewart. This is an evisceration and a true masterclass in journalism. It’s exhilarating.
