Early this morning, we reported that the House GOP had voted to gut the Office of Congressional Ethics. That vote, however, had not gone to the full House, but the Goodlatte amendment was expected to pass.

However, the House GOP has just pulled the amendment amid public outcry.

The media did its fucking job, and it worked! So did your phone calls.

I’m sure the fact that Donald Trump spoke out against the timing of the legislation didn’t hurt, either, although it doesn’t appear that he was against the amendment just the prioritization of it.

That, folks, is a victory, no matter how small. Also proof that we can affect change if we raise enough hell.

Keep at it, y’all. Four more years. Don’t let a goddamn thing slide.

Now we just need to figure out why Bob Goodlatte proposed the amendment. I think an investigation is in order. Office of Congressional Ethics, you should get on that.
