I don’t pay much attention anymore to Donald Trump’s Twitter account, because it is an insane collection of conspiracy theories, lies, and narcissism. However, it was hard to miss how upset a particular ad released by a group of anti-Trump Republicans (that includes George Conway) made the President. These tweets were delivered around 1 a.m. this morning.

Moonface? Anyway, here’s the ad, which is a play on (not a copy of) Reagan’s successful 1984, “Morning in America” ad.

Apparently, Trump had planned to run his own “Morning in America” reelection campaign, but a cratering economy, an embarrassing response to the current pandemic, and frequent public and private meltdowns have the President behind in most polls.

Note, too, that the digital ad from the Lincoln Project is probably more successful than anything that Joe Biden has done, so far. He needs to get a move on.
