Bigoted Creeps Laurence Fox and Dan Wootton Suspended From GB News For More Grotesque Than Expected Misogyny

Laurence Fox, former actor and third most-divorced man on Twitter, has been suspended from his job at the so-called news network GB News following a series of highly misogynistic comments he made on-air towards a female journalist.

GB News has issued an apology and launched an investigation after it aired Fox’s segment on accused harasser Dan Wootton’s show. Fox repeatedly attacked journalist Ava Evans, calling her a ‘little woman’ and claiming nobody would want to have sex with a ‘feminist 4.0’ ‘pathetic and embarrassing’ woman like her. While Wootton smirked throughout the segment, he later issued his own apology on Twitter to Evans, saying, ‘I apologise for what was said during the course of my show and should have done this immediately on air. This is not what our channel is about.’

GB News has since suspended Wootton following this segment. They didn’t suspend him when the Byline Times issued extensive details of allegations of sexual misconduct and blackmail made against Wootton over several years.

Fox doubled down on his cruelty, saying ‘I stand by every word I said.’ He then decided to throw Wootton and GB News under the bus with him, sharing a text message which he claims reveals that the network knew exactly what he was going to talk about on-air and were fine with it. He also shared messages he’d made with Wootton, where the men laughed together about the segment, adding, ‘You can imagine them freaking out in the gallery!!!!!’

Gross little men.

This is all abhorrent but, alas, not that surprising. GB News, which continues to struggle with low ratings and is consistently watched by fewer people than CBeebies, has worked overtime to make itself into the British version of Fox News. That means they indulge in lots of ‘anti-woke’ faux-fury as well as garden variety racism, misogyny, queerphobia, and hatred of the poor. It’s a cesspool of hyper-conservative propaganda, with various Tory MPs making a lot of money from the channel.

It’s no surprise they snapped up Laurence Fox once his acting career dried up and he decided to fall face-first into the field of being a bigoted talking-head. He was always going to do something like this. This is the man who proudly put on blackface to make some point about wokeness or whatever. He’s actually very bad at being a rent-a-gob loser because he is staggeringly inarticulate, embarrassingly thin-skinned, and utterly unoriginal. Imagine making Piers Morgan seem charismatic and interesting in comparison. That’s how much he sucks at this. But, like professional divorced man and transphobe Graham Linehan, he serves a purpose in a field of useful idiots. When you’re the biggest bigot in the room, you make all the other bigots seem ‘reasonable’, and far more palatable to shove onto the mainstream, whether people want it or not.

Fox has no actual qualifications to talk about politics, culture, or anything remotely resembling basic human decency. He’s been elevated to this position because he’s a loud racist who was on a TV show some people occasionally watched and it’s ridiculously easy in British media to market yourself as a right-wing think-piece vomit machine. He’s just the slightly less polished version of Wootton, Peter Hitchens, Jeremy Clarkson, Camilla Tominey, Sarah Vine, all the transphobes at The Guardian, and Piers Morgan.

Of course, the problem with being the biggest toad in the pond is that eventually, you will go ‘too far’, or at least far enough that your bosses worry about losing money. Fox can be disposed of because he’s of little worth to those who have positioned him as an important voice. They can always find someone new who won’t get them sued. The guy isn’t even the most divorced man on social media. That’s how pointless he is.
