I know that there are a lot of people (not here, but elsewhere in the Democratic party) who have already kind of resigned themselves to Joe Biden, because he allegedly represents our best chance at beating Trump. And as I’ve written before, this is only true if you believe it. It becomes self-fulfilling unless someone comes along and interrupts that narrative. It’s exactly what happened in 2008. Hillary was the most “electable.” She held a commanding lead in the run-up toward Iowa and New Hampshire because people believed she represented our best hope of taking back the White House. And then Barack Obama came along, and a few people gravitated toward him, and a few more people gravitated toward those people, and literally in a matter of three months — October to January — Obama’s support snowballed until he became the frontrunner.
For that to happen, however, you need a candidate who can attract a base, and as they say, nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd (Soul Asylum, “Black Gold,” 1993). And man alive, she has ideas. She has a goddamn plan, y’all.
The last couple of weeks have been her weeks, where the media focus has turned to her instead of Joe or Pete or Bernie. Hell, she’s got Drew Goddamn Magary fawning over her in the pages of GQ and the last time Drew Magary fawned over anybody was Randall Cunningham in 1998.
Warren’s ideas are painfully overdue, and they deserve to be recognized and championed by all of Warren’s peers, by local citizenry, and by horse-race politicos who retrofit their opinions to whatever a Gallup poll happens to say at the time. That Donald Trump can stumble his way into the Oval Office by offering up promises to fix a broken system while Warren lags behind the likes of Joe Biden while offering actual fixes to that system is proof enough alone that shit is fucked. Warren deserves more run. She deserves your undivided attention, because we all know what happened the last time voters were asleep in the booth.
She’s taking a small amount of media attention and trying to turn it into more and doing so without standing on a table and telling everyone for the 17th time during this campaign that she’s “learning from her mistakes,” ahem, Beto. We’ve already talked about her insanely good plan to eliminate student debt, but she also supports Medicare For All, she embraces the Green New Deal, and she actually has a plan to combat the opioid epidemic.
Oh, and she’s f**king brilliant, and she is not running to the center. She’s doing the opposite, calling for the impeachment of Trump and taking on Fox News:
Fox News is a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists—it’s designed to turn us against each other, risking life and death consequences, to provide cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government and hollowing out our middle class.

I’ve done 57 media avails and 131 interviews, taking over 1,100 questions from press just since January. Fox News is welcome to come to my events just like any other outlet. But a Fox News town hall adds money to the hate-for-profit machine. To which I say: hard pass.

It’s so great, because she’s also not one of those, “Yeah, but … ” candidates, as in “He’s great, but …” except in one regard: “She’s great, but can she win?” and the answer to that is FUCKING YES if you vote for her. Elizabeth Warren is not just the best we can do. She is the best there is. I just hope the media spotlight shines on her long enough for everyone else to realize that.
