Things are not going well for Donald Trump. Clinton’s chances of winning are now approaching 90 percent. A steady stream of accusations are being lodged daily against Donald Trump for past sexual assaults and lewd behavior. He’s lashing out. He’s saying dangerous, incoherent things. He’s already claiming the election is rigged, setting the stage to delegitimize Clinton’s presidency. The man has gone so off the rails that a Florida attorney is actually petitioning a judge to declare Donald Trump mentally incompetent.
This poll from Fox News should tell you how bad things are right now.
But the thing is, Donald Trump is not taking any responsibility for it. He’s blaming everyone else except himself — Hillary Clinton, the banks, the GOP, Paul Ryan — but most of all, he’s blaming the media. He’s threatening to sue the NYTimes for reporting that Donald Trump assaulted two women (he’ll never sue, because he’d be crushed in court and the discovery process would further ruin him).
In a rally yesterday, Trump even suggested that the media was out to get him.
“The corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They’re a political special interest, no different from any other lobbyist or financial entity with a total political agenda … and anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe, and morally deformed … They will attack you, they will slander you, they will seek to destroy your career and your family.”
He is suggesting that the media is allying against him, that they’ve launched a coordinated attack against his campaign, and he’s telling this to crowds of 10 -12,000. He’s turning his supporters against the the media, in general, but also — and more dangerously — against the individual members of the press at his campaign events.
Here’s 10,000 people chanting against the media.
Here’s a Trump supporter taunting the media while they’re trying to work.

Here’s an unhinged woman screaming at the media.

The press has been forced to ramp up their own security.
As Trump attacks press today, there is notably more security around media assembled here.— Holly Bailey (@hollybdc) October 13, 2016
It’s one thing to discredit the media, to try and delegitimize their reporting.
Didn't #Trump's rhetoric could get more dangerous, but discrediting all media to a crowd of sheep paves the way for dictatorial propaganda.— JackiSchechner (@JackiSchechner) October 12, 2016
It’s another thing to put their lives in danger, and right now, the press is being treated like Santa Claus at a Philadelphia Eagles game. This is the crowd booing at reporters.
Today, according to the WSJ, Trump plans to “broaden” his attacks on the media, the morning after — according to Keith Olbermann — “police in riot gear” had to escort the media out of Trump rallies.
There are 24 days left until the election. Let’s just hope everyone in the media survives it.
Trump and the media is basically a murder-suicide right now.— Crooked Laurie (@anylaurie16) October 14, 2016
