Donald Trump Is Not Right in the Head, And We Should All Be Nervous

Two day ago, ‘Morning Joe’ Co-Host Mika Brzezinski — who had gone into the Trump presidency with an open mind — announced her intention to basically give up on the Trump presidency.

“I have lost hope completely … This presidency is fake and failed." Daaaamn. Mika tapped OUT, y’all. pic.twitter.com/j7ONGBvfGV

“I had hope and an open mind. I am losing hope, and my mind is closing,” Brzezinkski said. “This presidency is fake and failed.”

Of course, Brzezinski was mocked by social media on Monday morning for showing emotion, after several news reports suggests she was “tearful” in that segment, although there is no evidence whatsoever of tearfulness. She looked pissed to me, but then, this is what the media often does: When it comes to women, the media often reduces anger or passion to emotional fragility.

“This is not funny,” Brzezinski also added. “This is really bad. Just for the record, we are all really nervous.”

And the thing is, Brzezinski — like the rest of us — have every reason to be nervous. This is not just, “Oh, ha ha! The President is making up shit to distract! He’s trying to change the conversation!”

No, no: Our President is a sociopath. This is who we are dealing with, the guy who pulls all the fucking strings. From the NYTimes last night, on Donald Trump’s mental state Saturday afternoon, after tweeting — without any evidence — that his predecessor had bugged his phone:

Mr. Trump, advisers said, was in high spirits after he fired off the posts. But by midafternoon, after returning from golf, he appeared to realize he had gone too far, although he still believed Mr. Obama had wiretapped him, according to two people in Mr. Trump’s orbit.

He sounded defiant in conversations at Mar-a-Lago with his friend Christopher Ruddy, the chief executive of Newsmax Media, Mr. Ruddy said. In other conversations that afternoon, the president sounded uncertain of the procedure for obtaining a warrant for secret wiretaps on an American citizen.

Mr. Trump also canvassed some aides and associates about whether an investigator, even one outside the government, could substantiate his charge.

The President of the United States — rather than focus on running the country — spent Saturday playing golf and inquiring about hiring a private investigator to find evidence of something Donald Trump had just made up. The man who has 17 intelligence agencies at his disposal wanted to hire a private investigator. The man who controls those intelligence agencies also has no idea what the procedure is for getting a wiretap.

There’s reason to be nervous. Our President is off his nut. He wants to throw his predecessor in prison based on no evidence, because it will make his disastrous presidency look better by comparison. That’s some Vladmir Putin bullshit right there. Put aside the Russian connections, and Trump/GOPCare, and the executive orders, and the travel bans: This man is not right in the head.
