Conservatives are quaking in their boots over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a political newcomer who stunned the nation by defeating establishment Democrat Joe Crowley in the primaries. Since then, the newly minted U.S. Representative-elect for New York’s 14th congressional district has been a recurring talking point/scare tactic on Fox News for her “Radical New Democratic Ideas.”
Fox News is right, this sounds rad as hell. pic.twitter.com/oMjcWx4b67

And to quell their fear over the progressive politics she represents, the Right has been giddily taking shots at 29-year-old non-millionaire over her comment that she can’t afford to get an apartment in Washington D.C. just yet because her new job doesn’t start paying her until January. Which leads us to this tweet from Trump-loving journalist Eddie Scarry, who writes for the Washington Examiner and has appeared on Fox News.
Note how this is a screengrab and not an embed? That’s because Scarry eventually deleted the tweet, but not until well after his bad take became a deliciously merciless meme.

While many had fun with Scarry’s absurd tweet, others pointed out how it was incredibly inappropriate for Scarry to comment on a congresswoman’s clothing and downright creepy to post a surreptitious photo taken by an unnamed stalker.

"Hill staffer sent me a pic of Ocasio-Cortez taken without her knowledge or permission while following her. I'll tell you something: the fact that she doesn't look poor enough to my liking is the least disturbing thing about my tweet."

There, @eScarry. Fixed that for you. pic.twitter.com/lcwkOjMJ6T
Others mocked Scarry’s apparent need to see Ocasio-Cortez display her woman-of-the-people persona through cartoonish means.

And it turns out Scarry isn’t new to creep tweets.
truly blown away by this single-minded dedication to being a mondo creep. it’s like he was created in a lab by scientists trying to create the most shamelessly creepy weirdo in dc pic.twitter.com/Q0BVJhkeid

Congrats on getting ratio-owned harder than any tweet in history.

Even Dictionary.com got in on the game.
Girl. Noun. A female child, from birth to full growth.

E.g. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not a girl.https://t.co/ASRDezVivT https://t.co/4nnYMLk1fz
But Ocasio-Cortez wasn’t bothered.

Scarry was, though. After getting ratioed into oblivion (over 21,000 comments versus 1.6k likes), he deleted the tweet and tried to rewrite his history with a new one.
ATTN! I posted a tweet earlier suggesting the incoming congresswoman looked well put together — ELEGANT even — despite suggestions she’s struggled. The tweet was taken as something else, so I’ve deleted it!

You can see from this ratio (8k to 1.5k), few believed his bullshit.

But Scarry didn’t just get dragged on Twitter. He also got dunked on at Amazon. Scarry attempted to use this Twitter infamy to promote his book, an attempted takedown of Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.

Good news for Scarry: People clicked the link! Bad news: They did so to leave a flurry of one-star reviews.
It got to the point that Amazon locked reviews.
Twitter is a breeding ground for bad takes. So many will go ignored, spotted, eye-rolled over, then ignored. But the creepiness of a reporter posting a picture of a female politician’s backside that was taken without her consent, combined with a caption that was both wildly superficial, stupid, and sexist, made for perfect conditions for his ratio to turn on him. Within 25 minutes, the numbers were already staggering. Users began replying just to add to and relish the ratio. And making that even more amusing, Scarry claimed he didn’t even know what getting ratioed means!
I at least understand this tweet. The ones that only say “RATIO DUDE!” really go over my head. https://t.co/E85aiJzqYY
— Eddie Scarry (@eScarry) November 15, 2018
Dude! It means that way more people refute your BAD take than agree! It means your ass is getting handed to you! It means you have officially become a punchline! But hey, upside, now you have one more thing in common with your hero, Donald Trump.
Media: “No, Mr. President. We are not ‘the enemy of the people.’

Me:https://t.co/bJ6cmwfJsb
As amusing as it was to see a sexist creep get demolished, that wasn’t even the best part. The best part was that the winner here is Ocasio-Cortez because it gave her one more opportunity to talk social politics and show her social media savviness while exposing that Scarry’s sentiment proved exactly why we need women like her in politics.
If I walked into Congress wearing a sack, they would laugh & take a picture of my backside.
