Today, Bernie Sanders officially dropped his bid to become the Democratic nominee for President of the United States. I don’t think we need to relive his 2016 or 2020 campaign. Bernie’s a good man. His platform has worked its way into that of the Democratic Party. He has pulled not just the party, but the entire country to the left, for the better. Some of the steps that the government is taking right now in an attempt to ease the recession we are in are out of the Bernie playbook. He fought hard — hell, he fought through a heart attack. He stuck to his guns. He was consistent. He did not waver. He gained millions of passionate followers, who are still ready to follow him to the ends of the Earth.
He fought the good fight, and we are a better country for it. And that is all that need be said today about Bernie Sanders because I strongly suspect that it won’t be the last we hear of him.
Joe Biden is now the presumptive Democratic nominee.
