Out of the whole 90-minute horror show that was this election’s first Presidential debate, one moment stood out as being the definitive highlight. It’s a moment that will now be forever known as “The Hillary Clinton Shimmy.”

This moment came right after Trump accused her of not having the right temperament, yelling and interrupting to let her know that his temperament is the best temperament, it’s so good, you wouldn’t believe.
This was the moment Clinton got to drop her Polite Listening Face and respond to Trump’s ludicrous thought vomit. She was ready for this moment (ALMOST LIKE SHE’D PREPARED OR SOMETHING), and she was going to have some fun with it. It was goddamned glorious.
And now that moment has gotten the best tribute any of us could hope for. Singer-songwriter Jonathan Mann has given us “The Hillary Clinton Shimmy Song.”
I don’t think I’m being hyperbolic in saying that this is the greatest political anthem of our time. HRC should play this at her rallies. This should be playing when she takes the stage to accept the presidency in November.
Check out some of these lyrics and watch the video above.
This dude is coming at meI just smile and let him be
The dude brought his own rope
He put the bullet in the gun so
I’m just gonna shimmy
It’s gonna be a long trek to November 8th. When this election season gets you too far down, remember: get your Jim Halpert on, take a deep breath, and do the HRC shimmy.
