In The Dog Days Of Summer, Podjiba Takes Baby Steps Toward Returning!

(That title will make sense if you listen to our mid-episode random asides, I swear!)

For the dozens of you who have been waiting for this moment, Podjiba is finally back!

Obviously, we’ve taken a number of breaks in the past, whether for the end-of-the-year holidays, or when one of us had to go out of the country a few weeks at a time for totally normal reasons. But this was perhaps our longest break yet, as we worked out some new scheduling concerns with our new podcasting overlord (who maybe makes a brief guest appearance on today’s episode off mic)!

All of that to say we are glad to be back talking nonsense, television, and television nonsense in your general directions again, but just note that things may be slightly different from time to time. For example, this week’s episode is somewhat shorter, for reasons that will be very clear when you listen!

That being said, we still managed to talk a lot of the TV we watched while we were away, including about the thoroughly enjoyable Peacock show Twisted Metal, the ending of Amazon’s Good Omens and AppleTV+’s Hijack, as well as the return of Raylan Givens in Justified: City Primeval!

Oh, and we didn’t totally forget that we’re going to rewatch (or in my case, watch) season one of Umbrella Academy, but we’ll let you know when that’s starting up, probably soon! Especially since there might be less fall TV than normal, thanks in no small part to the AMPTP’s inability to discuss issues facing writers and actors with any seriousness, which is why both unions remain on strike (as of this writing, the WGA has now been on strike for 100 days, and SAG-AFTRA for 26).
