Hello! Welcome to another week, and another episode of Podjiba, which still remains primarily about television…

Although it comes in the second half of the episode, I wanted to highlight the fact that this week, we discussed the portrayal of police officers in television, something that’s been on our minds given the current protests all around the country (reminder: Jodi put together a great list of groups that can use donations, should you have the means and desire to do so), as well as because of this excellent Kathryn VanArendonk piece at Vulture, which highlights some of the ways shows that prioritize the cop’s perspective can affect and shape our own.

Admittedly, it’s a discussion where we have few (if any) answers, but it felt like an important question to consider when thinking about the entertainment we choose in the future.

Also, we discuss (among the numerous asides we tend to take) the new HBOMax series Love Life (which we mostly enjoyed!), the new Netflix series Space Force (not for us!), and also played a game built loosely around the fact that Anna Kendrick seems to always be ready to launch a new streaming service.

As always, the episode can be found wherever you prefer to hear your podcasts, as well as embedded below, or downloaded directly right here.

Dan is the Comedy Editor and Podjiba Host. You can listen to him scream into the void on Twitter, or listen to him host the weekly TV podcast Podjiba.
