'Sunny,' 'House Of The Dragon,' And Do You Know Who Shawn Colvin Is, On This Week's Podjiba!

For those of you who listen to Podjiba regularly, you know that Dustin likes to change his name and come up with something random for me to say in the intro. And this week, he decided to call himself the #1 Shawn Colvin fan — a singer whose name I did not recognize.

And yet, according to Dustin (and the “internet”), this Shawn Colvin song was all the rage in 1997!

I swear I have never heard this song before. It must not have been playing at the Tower Records where I hung out.

Anyway, after an extended discussion that encompassed Shawn Colvin and led to talking about Dawson’s Creek (obviously), it was apparently sci-fi/fantasy week here on Podjiba, as every show we discussed this week appears to have some sort of fantastical elements. Whether that’s the harder sci-fi of new shows like AppleTV+’s Sunny or AMC’s Orphan Black: Echoes, the otherworldly visions of House of the Dragon or The Acolyte, or the fantasy of singular visions, like Twin Peaks: The Return or Fantasmas, somehow we managed to accidentally back into a theme that I didn’t recognize until just now.
