Normally on the podcast, we only discuss shows that at least one of us has already watched, which, you know, makes sense. But in this week’s nonsense, we managed to stumble upon two shows (one upcoming, one already released) that we haven’t seen, and at best only barely knew existed!
First up is the new AMC+ show Ultra City Smiths, which premieres on July 22nd and hails from Steve Conrad (who created Patriot and co-created Perpetual Grace, Ltd.). The show also happens to be animated, which means it may just be the gateway drug that Dustin needs to finally accept animation as a true and worthy form that he should totally appreciate.
Next up is a brand new SPECTRUM ORIGINAL from Robert and Michelle King (Dustin’s other favorite people) called The Bite, which apparently was released in May and they didn’t tell anyone. It is definitely pandemic programming, which may make it less appealing to watch by this point, but of course SPECTRUM is a wise and just overlord and they rarely steer us wrong. Right?
As for the rest of the show:
- We talked about the first two episodes of the new AppleTV+ show Schmigadoon! It’s very musical-y.
- Dustin and Tori dove into the ending of Lisey’s Story, which also led to a variety of rabbit holes which honestly I don’t remember!
- Tori covered Kung Fu with another Kung Fu Corner!
- Dustin told us about the new Peacock series Dr. Death, which also led to a fat Lee reference!
- Of course, we did have to discuss the season finale of Loki!
In closing, listen to Podjiba! If you want. I mean, that’s the point of this post, but you will make your own choices, obviously. If that choice involves a download link, you can find it here.
