Remember commercials?
I mean, for those of us who still have cable (I’ll never leave you again, Spectrum, at least until the next awesome deal that makes me decide to try to save money only to come crawling back later), we do see commercials on occasion. And if you watch anything live, you probably understand that much of our televised entertainment still does technically exist to deliver us the ad breaks.
This is not a thing about whether I’m for or against commercials but rather just an excuse to bring you this Japanese commercial, which recently came to my attention.
Seriously. That thing was magical. A magical ad for a sports drink!
As for this week’s Podjiba (which remains blissfully ad-free!), after Tori provides us with some breaking news (three guesses what show it’s about, rhymes with Luck Pails) and another installment of Kung Fu Corner, we get into the main shows of the week:
- The new Peacock series Rutherford Falls, which was overall enjoyable, particularly when it focused on the Native American characters, led by Jana Schmieding and Michael Greyeyes!
- Dustin tries to convince us to watch Freeform’s new show Cruel Summer (which is also on Hulu the day after)!
- Tori educates us about the new Netflix series Shadow & Bone, which is definitely not at all related to the Starz ballet drama Flesh & Bone!
- And then, we reach the end of the journey with The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, as the latest Marvel series ended with a… well, it’s a Marvel show, so with a bunch of setup for some of the new things coming down the line!
