I lost my grandmother last June to dementia, not COVID. Although, that certainly complicated things in very infuriating ways. (Not from necessary guidelines, but from family members who continue to give zero f*cks about those guidelines.) It’s something I don’t really talk about or have fully come to terms with, but Maureen reminded me of my grandmother’s better years with her kindness, wisdom, and dedication to helping others.
