If you missed the AMAs, you missed a truly fantastic tribute to Whitney Houston from Christina Aguilera. I forget how much I love Whitney’s songs until I hear them again and damn, Christina’s voice is just so strong! - (Lainey)
I friggin’ adore Busy Phillips and if I ran into her in my local drugstore, I don’t think I would be able to find words, just sounds, “HiiiiiiaaaBizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzuhahahahahahahahaokbye!” Evidently, other people have no problem talking to her, but they do sometimes say things they really shouldn’t. - (Celebitchy)
It’s stunning to realize that Polio, which once held communities and parents in terror, has been eradicated so completely that iron lungs, the contraptions of nightmares, are also almost gone. There are only a few people known to still depend on them. - (Gizmodo)
Up is down, left is right, Charlie Rose is a serial creeper and Jeremy Piven is not? Every day is a new day of “HUH? WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING?” - (Dlisted)
A whole lot of shitty men have been revealed as such in recent months (and there are many more to come), but one guy who decidedly does not fit into that category is Terry Crews, who opened up about being sexually harassed by a powerful agent. He has since filed a complaint against the agent with the police. But it wasn’t easy. When he told Russell Simmons — who was accused yesterday of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old along with Brett Ratner — about it, Simmons said to give the agent “a pass.”
Radar Online also came after him with a fake story, and Crews called their asses out:
1 day after my @GMA interview, @radaronline threatened me w/ a false story abt me hiring 2 hookers at the 2015 Monte Carlo TV Festival.— terrycrews (@terrycrews) November 19, 2017
It never went 2 press because it was a lie.
This was not a coincidence. I told u they were coming 4 me. I also told you I am ready. pic.twitter.com/vqLAUknUiO
And that’s why his own female cast mates from Brooklyn Nine-Nine adore him:
Same same same. @terrycrews is a truth teller and a beacon of light in a world of darkness. A man who uses his heart and soul to send the message that we must #endrapeculture for all. https://t.co/xsQx9K5k50— Stephanie Beatriz (@iamstephbeatz) November 19, 2017
I’m LITERALLY only posting this particular link as an opportunity to talk about myself, because, really it’s all about me. The Queen and Prince Philip are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. SEVENTIETH (Goddamn, that looks weird when spelled out). My husband and I are celebrating our 1th wedding anniversary this week.

The era of Jim Crow laws can seem like the distant past, but Congressman John Lewis lived it, and he has told his story in the three volume graphic memoir, March. Faintingviolet has reviewed all three volumes and says "If Book One is a primer then Book Two is a call to arms which leads to Book Three a rallying cry to continue the work of The Movement." Have you read any of this award-winning series? (Cannonball Read 9)
