Dustin is taking a breather from reporting on Trump (Dustin deserves an all-expenses-paid holiday in Tahiti for all the political news he’s been reporting here) so I’m going to kick things off with a Pajiba Love Political Briefing. You know that “bombshell” tweet from Trump this morning? About the supposedly damning information contained in 2016 FBI agent text messages? Republicans have been trying to form a narrative that Hillary worked with the FBI to frame Trump, and they are doing everything in their power to find evidence to support this claim. Sadly for them, these are not the text messages they are looking for. The supposed “bombshell” texts have nothing to do with Hillary. (WSJ)

Jeanette Manfra, chief cybersecurity official for the Department of Homeland Security, said that she has “no doubt” that Russians hacked our voter registration system:

Of course, there is no way that Trump launches a meaningful investigation into this. His entire business is being propped up by Russia. A seventh bankruptcy sure does sound nice, though. (NBC News)

Milo Yiannopoulos’s decision to represent himself in court is, uhhh, not going so well.

Today, scientists revealed that “Cheddar Man”, UK’s earliest man, was dark skinned and Twitter had the best reactions. This is the rare time that I am not being sarcastic. (The Root)

Hairstylist Camille Friend talked about working on Black Panther, where everyone was styled in natural hair. You want to click on this link to look at the hair, the makeup, and the costumes. Gorgeous! (The Cut)

There is a new Red Sparrow trailer and I am still not convinced. Am I the only one? The entire plot sounds terrible. (Lainey Gossip)

These alcohol puzzle jugs are fantastic. If Tolkien was alive, I’m sure he’d agree with me that they’d be all the rage in Hobbiton. (Atlas Obscura)

The Good Place and Parks and Recreation existing in the same universe is the perfect stack of waffles of my soul. (Shut up, that makes total sense in Leslie Knope-speak.) (AV Club)

Modern romance: Princess falls in love with a Commoner. Princess gets engaged to the Commoner. Princess gets second thoughts on renouncing her title and postpones her wedding. *sad trombone*(Celebitchy)

Siberian scientists discovered a species of bat that doesn’t seem to die. This is eerily similar to the plot of an excellent, but frightening book, The Passage. (Motherboard)

I’ve always considered Jim Carrey to be exhausting, but I never imagined he’d send a coworker into therapy. I was wrong. (IndieWire)

Westworld comes back on April 22! If you need a refresher of season one, I’ve got you covered. (Nerdist)

Even when getting her heel stuck in a grate, Kate Middleton manages to look dignified. If that was me, I’d be eating the pavement. (GFY)

Quincy Jones is back in the headlines again. Now he’s claiming that he dated Ivanka Trump. He really needs to just stop talking. Possibly forever. (Dlisted)

New Cannonballer Tia_I’m.Tia is working through her Amazon wish list of books in chronological order. Mary Willis Walker’s Under the Beetle’s Cellar has been on the list for so long she couldn’t remember much more than it being a thriller. It was indeed a thriller. A thriller so thrilling she needed to make peanut butter and honey tacos before she could get to sleep. What do you do when a book has you too wound up to sleep? (Cannonball Read 10)

Chocolate makes everything better, even when it’s a gift from your ex’s ex (and everything is TOTALLY COOL):
