So, get this: Garrett Ventry, the spokesman helping lead the Senate Judiciary Committee’s response to a sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, has resigned this morning over … sexual harassment allegations. Unbelievable. (NBC)

He hires only the best people.

WOW! As political ads go, this one is both petty and savage. Brutal.

Ted Cruz posted this last night, and the running joke online was that Cruz must be voting for O’Rourke, because there was nothing at all objectionable in this speech — in fact, just the opposite. So why would Cruz post … Oh. Oh, I see. Because the audience is a black church. And this is Texas. And this was about dividing people by race. Pure and simple.

Seriously, how do you not want to vote for this guy?

“Because it’s authentic for me to be pro-Christian, pro-Jesus. That’s my thing.” You be you, Chris Pratt (Seriously. You’re the worst Chris, but that has nothing to do with it). (Celebitchy)

Yandy yanked its The Handmaid’s Tale Halloween costume and … oh yeah. Yeah, I see why they’d do that. (Dlisted)

In this week’s Royal Round-Up over on GFY … I have no idea who these Royals are. I have never seen them before in my life. (GFY)

“There is no shortage of Americans just itching for an excuse to gun down poor people for trying to survive a hurricane. Not only that, but these right-wing shitbirds actually believe they have the legal right to murder someone over property that isn’t even theirs.” The brilliant Mike Redmond on the Oath Keepers. (Medium)

It’s not Ronan, but this should be the end of NBC News Chief Andy Lack. (Daily Beast)

Oh no! Kenan may finally be leaving SNL. I mean … I knew it might happen one day, but after 15 years, how can anyone prepare themselves for this! (Vulture)

A man kidnapped a woman, strangled her unconscious, masturbated on her, and he was convicted of four felony counts but served … what’s that? Zero days in prison? ZERO? (Wonkette)

I don’t know much about video games, but I know enough to know that TellTale Games shutting down today is a huge deal.

Here’s a deep dive into the latest episode of Mayan MC for those of you into that sort of thing. (Uproxx)

Here you go, folks: Meet your new Chucky. (/Film)

On the girl-on-girl kissing in A Simple Favor: “It’s tired, dull in its predictability, as lazy in its repetition as the most uninspired of reboots.” (FSR)

In the off chance that you have not seen this yet, here’s Joaquin Phoenix in a screen test for the Joker in full make-up.

Ilona Andrews’ Kate Daniels series has come to its thrilling conclusion with Magic Triumphs. Over 10 books, Kate has gone from loner mercenary to wife, mother, and THE power in Atlanta. The series finale has been generally well received by Cannonballers. "Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with how Ilona Andrews was able to wrap up the series that addressed the new player, the future of Atlanta and the long term threat of Roland." Have you read the series? Were you happy with the ending? (Cannonball Read 10)
