It’s Wednesday. Only a couple more days until the weekend. Only a couple more… Oh, god, a couple more… No! We can do this! We can do it.
Here’s a good way to start - in this Watch What Happens Live clip, Patti LuPone is taking a question about Madonna and how they both starred as Eva Perón. It feels like a fairly standard response… but watch until the end. Patti LuPone says exactly what she thinks. No fucks given. - (Lainey)
For some ungodly, absurd reason, Betsy DeVos was invited to give the graduation speech at the historically black college, Bethune-Cookman University, today. It did not go well. The graduates booed DeVos, and after the Dean threatened to mail the graduates their diplomas, they booed even more.

And then those students stood up, and turned their back to DeVos. Now, that’s how you #resist. (WashPo)
We are Bethune-Cookman University. And best believe Mary taught us well. pic.twitter.com/mi8fFoao3D— $murf 🐐 (@smurfresh) May 10, 2017
OH OH, I totally missed this when I was looking at pictures from the MTV Movie and TV Awards! Brett Dier, Michael from Jane the Virgin, a) has this amazing curly hair going on and b) wore a fucking Pac-Man suit! - (GFY)
Charming Potato wrote a guest essay for Cosmopolitan and in it shared such sweet comments about his wife and daughter that I got a smidge teary-eyed. SO WHAT, SHUT UP! And then there was other stuff about male strippers and women feeling like goddesses and stuff and whatever, but the FIRST part was really sweet and I can’t help but just realllllly like him. - (Celebitchy)
You know who should write a parenting book? Kathy and Rick Hilton! They’ve done such a stellar job of raising their entitled, ill-behaved offspring. They should write a book so everyone who reads it can do exactly the opposite of everything they say and do! They could write so much about how to raise such a charming, law-abiding, humble gentleman like young Master Conrad. - (Dlisted)
So I guess journalists don’t get to ask questions of government leaders without fear of being arrested now. This is a thing that happened. In America. - (WashPost)
If you missed it last week, there’s a podcast for American Gods. It’s not just any old podcast either; it’s hosted by none other than our own Joanna Robinson. You can catch the second episode, “The Secret of Spoons”, and bookmark it for future listens. - (SoS)
BowWow apparently tried to pull some shit on Instagram with a picture of a private plane and a comment about him heading off to NY. …Except someone on his commercial flight took a picture of him and sent it back to Twitter. And now Black Twitter is having a field day with #BowWowChallenge - (Twitter)
Given the detail with which Robert Silverberg wrote about death in the early 1970’s, sabian30 was surprised to find out he is still alive. Three of Silverberg’s stories are collected in Born With the Dead. Each novella explores "how people deal with the final curtain closing on a very personal level." Have you read anything from this Grand Master of Science Fiction? (Cannonball Read 9)
