Earlier today, the AP reported that the White House was considering deploying 100,000 National Guardsman to act as immigration officers and round up and deport immigrants. Sean Spicer, however, denied it, called the AP “irresponsible” for reporting it, and then subsequently tweeted:

But here’s the thing: The AP kept receipts.

The takeaway? Holy shit, the White House has considered using the National Guard to deport immigrants. That is f*#ed.

Does the CBR9 rating system go to 11? No? Well, kella wants to make sure you know that Yaa Gyasi is a "storytelling wizard." She loved Homegoing, Gyasi’s complicated story of two Ghanaian half sisters, one who is sold in marriage to a white slaver, and one who is shipped to America to be a slave. The engaging book jumps between the sisters and their descendants, exploring race, family, and the beauty of the Fante and Asante cultures. (Cannonball Read 9)

It’s Friday, and it’s a long weekend for some. Also, it’s, like, 65 degrees in parts of the midwest right now (for real, crocuses and daffodils are coming up in my yard. I don’t have the heart to tell them it’s still winter.) and is expected to be around 70 this weekend. If you can, go outside. Step away from the news and the computer and clear your brainspace of the past 3 weeks. Go have a picnic or just read a book or maybe play some ball. Relax and unplug. Have a great weekend! Here’s your daily otter. - (TDO)

Click on over to Twitter to read this entire thread, but if you’re a Floridian considering going to the Trump rally on Sunday to protest, please think twice before doing so. You can never be too careful with these people, and with the way things are going, we are due a Reichstag fire.

Finally, heading into the weekend, here’s your first teaser for the next season of Silicon Valley, which returns on April 23rd.
