Mr. Spock Is Gay? No Sh*t.

This weekend “Heroes” and Star Trek star Zachary Quinto came out of the closet. The folks over at Celebitchy call it a “glass closet” because those of us paying the slightest attention already knew Quinto was gay. But he chose to come out vocally and visibly in order in honor of a bullied gay teen, which is lovely. (Celebitchy)

On the other side of the issue, Robert Downey Jr. has said that it’s high time we all forgive Mel Gibson his trespasses. Gibson is anti-gay, right? It’s hard to keep track of all the things he hates. I’m going to hold onto my disdain for a little while longer if it’s okay with you, RDJ. (Evil Beet)

Speaking of religious nut jobs, here’s former teen heartthrob Kirk Cameron celebrating his 41st birthday. Caution, it’s super depressing. (Uproxx)

Seth sent me this incredible essay written from the perspective of “The Thing.” You know, from The Thing and its remake The Thing and its reborquel The Thing? The essay is great, the last sentence, however, even made TK cringe. (Clark’s World Magazine)

New York Comic Con happened this past weekend and as soon as I see a stellar cosplay gallery, rest assured I will post it here. Who doesn’t love an excess of latex clad thighs? In the meantime, check out this handy chart of the 15 People You’ll See At Every Geek Convention. (Geeks Are Sexy)

Not enough zombies on that chart if you ask me. Speaking of zombies, this Ace store has a handy selection of household products you can turn to should you find yourself among the Walking, Decaying, Rotting, Oh-Snap-My-Arm-Just-Fell-Off Dead. (Westlake Ace)

Apparently, a German tourist may have fallen victim to cannibalism. On the downside, I’m very sorry for him and for his lovely girlfriend. On the upside, should there be a Lifetime movie (and there will be), Eric Christian Olsen has this part in the bag. (Telegraph)

Sean Penn has some delightful words for The Tea Party. One of them is the N-word. (MovieLine)

Quick OCCUPY round-up. Protests in Italy turned violent as a pack of rioters broke off from the peaceful Occupy Protest to loot and burn Rome. (Italy Mag) Several protesters were arrested at a Citibank branch in NYC when they tried to close their accounts. This article has a breakdown of why Citibank should have taken some notes from Chase. (Red Green and Blue) And, finally, CNN has an interesting Op-Ed article on why it’s foolish to dismiss the Occupy movement. (CNN)

In honor of the debut of Season 2 of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” here’s a gallery of grotesque cakes that look both enticing and repugnant. (Blastr)

We’ve also got “The Walken Dead,” a cute video that, like most of this kind, goes on a bit long. But anything that references The Rundown is aces in my book.

Finally, Jim Meskimen, impressionist extraordinaire, does the ABCs of celebrity voices. In one take. Dear lord the man is talented.
