More On Cohen, the Fox News Spin, Another Republican Bites It, and Winona and Keanu
What has happened since Paul Manafort was convicted on 8 counts, and Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts, two of which implicate the President? Well, Trump railed once again that there was no collusion; he attended a rally in West Virginia in which the audience unironically chanted “Lock her up!” and Stormy Daniels tweeted.
How ya like me now?! # teamstormy— Stormy Daniels (@StormyDaniels) August 21, 2018
Cohen’s likely not done, either.
Lanny Davis, Michael Cohen's lawyer, to @maddow: "I can tell you that Mr. Cohen has knowledge on certain subjects that should be of interest to the special counsel and [he] is more than happy to tell the special counsel all that he knows."— Kyle Griffin (@kylegriffin1) August 22, 2018
Meanwhile, here’s Fox News’ first stab at spinning it. I hope they forcibly evict Dershowitz from Martha’s Vinyard for this.
.@AlanDersh: "Every candidate violates the election laws when they run for president…here they're trying to elevate this into an impeachable offense or a felony against the president." #Tucker pic.twitter.com/PT87wHBn9f— Fox News (@FoxNews) August 22, 2018
Meanwhile, two of Trump’s first political supporters, Rep. Duncan Hunter and Rep. Chris Collins, are both under indictment. Hunter was indicted today for using campaign funds for personal expenses. To wit:

By the way, Hunter cannot be removed from the ballot in CA.
At this juncture, Duncan Hunter’s name will remain on the ballot regardless of what he chooses to do. No other GOP candidate can run for CA-50. The only way to remove his name is if that is ordered by a judge. That is a huge development in race for control of US House.— Maeve Reston (@MaeveReston) August 21, 2018
Jennifer Garner got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, and if you saw her daughter walking down the street without any context whatsoever, you’d say, “I bet that is Jennifer Garner’s daughter.” (LG)
Confirmed: Ben Affleck is kind of a cad. (Celebitchy)
Whoa! It’s been, like, eight months since it aired here in America, but the fantastic End of the F**king World has been renewed (which is kind of a shame because it was such a perfect one-season series). (Vulture)
Keanu and Winona continue to be the best couple that is not a couple. Let’s all Keanu and Winona together, OK? (GFY)

We will have more on this tomorrow … but, Danny Boyle has exited as director of the next James Bond film. (Dlisted)
Any headline with Kathryn Hahn gets a click from me. In this case, she’s starring in a new series for HBO called Mrs. Fletcher from Tom Perrotta. Hey! I read that book! It’s pretty good. (Jezebel)
If you haven’t read Kelly Marie Tran’s piece yet, my God! It is so good, and so powerful. (Lainey)
Loving Wonkette’s headline work today! (Wonkette)
Elon Musk has broken up with his girlfriend, Grimes (no relation to Rick). (Dlisted)
Fans of Terry Pratchett are still mourning his death three years on. Bothari43 is wondering when she will be able to visit Discworld without getting sad. Reading Hat Full Of Sky, "had me heaving a happy, melodramatic, bittersweet sigh." How do you feel when reading Pratchett books now? (Cannonball Read 10)
OK. My wife sent me this quiz where they will guess your birthday based on your movie preferences, and they got hers exactly right. For me, they gave the exact same year as my wife (she’s 5 years younger). I don’t really like quizzes, but I’m curious how accurate this one is overall. (HowStuffWorks)
