Mitch McConnell Delivers a Double Dose of F**k You To Trump
Lots of serious stuff in the news today (copy and paste X 195 days), but I’m here to lighten it up a bit. Let’s go!
On his way out the door for a three week vacation, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate locked the doors to ensure that Trump couldn’t make any recess appointments, because they clearly don’t trust the toddler with the country while they’re gone. (The Hill)
I thoroughly enjoyed Valerian , I mean, it wasn’t great, but it was crazy and fun!, and I am thoroughly enjoying this dress Cara Delevingne is wearing. The construction is amazing. (GFY)
Have you taken a look at the 2017 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year top photos? They are STAHH.NING. (NG)
I don’t have a lot of confidence that the The Dark Tower movie will be good and this review pretty much confirms that, but I do have confidence that you’ll want to ogle some photos of Idris Elba. (LG)
Game of Thrones characters as hipsters that you’ll absolutely want to see. They’re pretty great. The Night King reminds me of my grandpa (which is a very weird thing to admit). (5Things)
Our very own Kristy Puchko wrote a fantastic piece and you should go read it. (VF)
As a lady who has always been pretty upset at the disproportionate amount of time that women are expected to devote to grooming, I have to say that I find this John Cena story delightful. F*ck yeah, equality! (CB)
Charming Potato’s daughter sounds like a sassy delight and a possible future movie critic for Pajiba. (YT)
I’m not proud of this, but I hate-read a lot of lifestyle blogger-type people. I don’t know why. I hate their fake lives. I hate their clumsy ads. I hate the entire #authentic shtick. And yet, I keep doing it. Why? Probably because once in a while these fake people get their comeuppance and karma is scrumptious. (Dlisted)
Raising good kids is hard work. J is a slightly less affluent resident of an affluent area and worried her daughter would feel the difference between herself and her classmates. Ron Lieber’s The Opposite of Spoiled: Raising Kids Who Are Grounded, Generous, and Smart About Money wasn’t quite what she was hoping for. It did have good, common sense advice about putting financial choices in context for your kids. How do you handle what the Tooth Fairy gives your kids? (Cannonball Read 9)
I’m just going to leave you with this headline, because honestly I can’t do any better: “How Far Do Roller-Grill Hot Dogs Travel?” (AO)
