Today is National Tin Foil Hat Day! But not really because I just made it up. Finally, after all these years, we can put away these crazy JFK conspiracy theories and move on. Yes? Nope. Some of the files are going to be held back. It’s not like these agencies had TWENTY FIVE YEARS to get this ready. (NBC News) (The new files for your perusal are at the National Archives site.)

The Name of the Wind is one of my favorite books of all time. I have read it more than any other book. I listen to the audiobook constantly. I’ve met Patrick Rothfuss five times (and his dad once, RIP). I baked him cookies. He’s hugged me twice. It was nice. So I am more than ready for this. Can we start dream-casting? I want Lin-Manuel Miranda as Elodin. (Deadline)

Velvet is very in at the moment, which I appreciate. But none of these is a full-length velvet wizard’s robe, so I’ll be keeping my monies for now. (GFY)

Oooff, Anna Faris continues to…unimpress. (Celebitchy)

Most people are probably more familiar with the 1956 movie Giant (Rock Hudson, Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean) than with the 1952 novel by Edna Ferber on which it is based. Cannonballer lgesin suggests you might want to change that. This summer she challenged herself to read more mid-century American literature and thoroughly enjoyed Ferber’s novels, Giant, Cimarron, So Big and Showboat. Ferber liked to put strong feminist women into conservative settings and see what happened. Are you familiar with Edna Ferber? (Cannonball Read 9)
