What a shit day, right? I mean, I know you can say that about any other day in the last 372 days, but today felt especially grim when one of our own turned out to be a creep. And then there is this:

There are no words. Except to say that we are living in The Upside Down for sure.

Soooooooooo. Remember the Keystone pipeline? Yeah. It’s leaking. A lot. (The Independent)

Another accuser has come forward and alleged that she was sexually assaulted (and basically bullied) by Transparent star Jeffrey Tambor. That’s two. It’s officially a pattern, and this sucks tremendously for the two women he harassed, Trace Lysette and Van Barnes, but the entire cast and crew of that series, whose jobs will be put in danger, and the hundreds of thousands of marginalized people to whom that show means so much. It just sucks, and fuck you, Jeffrey Tambor. (THR)

Production of the next season of Veep is being postponed due to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s cancer treatment. WHICH SHE WILL KICK RIGHT IN ITS CANCER ASS; THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. (CNN)

I think an injection of animals being adorable is necessary today. Here’s your dose. (Bored Panda)

Are you worried about getting through this holiday season without shouting, fighting, or violence? Try one of these alcoholic hot chocolate drink recipes. You’re welcome. (T&C)

Jessica Williams is just the best. Here is an interview with her that I think you’ll enjoy. (Teen Vogue)

Another good interview (and photos, LORDY) with Gal Gadot. (GQ)

Words I am surprised to write: the history of the brown paper bag lunch is fascinating. (Eater)

Do you enjoy optical illusions? Then these are for you. (Mental Floss)

CRISPR technology scares me to pieces, but this application is super interesting (I hope it takes). (AP)

Drake had some choice words for a dude in the crowd who was groping women. (Lainey Gossip)

One of my favorite doctors, Dr. Steven Novella, adds on to John Oliver’s wonderful piece about Whataboutism. (NeuroLogicaBlog)

These photos of lighthouses covered in ice look like design sets straight from Game of Thrones. (5Things)

I’m not sure what’s more surprising: the car sticker itself, or that it’s from Texas. (The Cut)

So I guess Charles Manson is very ill and close to death. I’m shocked he’s still alive, tbh. (Dlisted)

Jessica Chastain is on the cover of Town & Country. Not only does she look stunning, but the interview sounds great as well. (GFY)

Kate Winslet no. KATE, NO! (Celebitchy)

Kfishgirl leads off her review of Ridley Pearson’s Killer Summer with a note about her local library’s program where young readers can read whatever book they want to therapy dogs. Kudos to kfishgirl’s niece who’s participating in the program with what looks like the best. book. ever. If you were going to read a book to a dog, which book would you read? (Cannonball Read 9)
