Every few weeks, it seems, Twitter decides it wants to cancel Chris Pratt. It is what it is, and I’m certainly not going to defend Pratt from beliefs made-up or otherwise. But James Gunn will:

James Gunn will not, however, extend the same courtesy to ALF, an alien eater of cats.

Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers have split. No, this is not a rerun. This time, it’s permanent. Aaron knows why. (Lainey)

Justin Lin has exited the next Fast and Furious movie, Fast X, a week into filming. While he won’t direct, he’ll continue on as producer. The film will pause production while it searches for a new director. The reason, it seems, is “creative differences.” I’m guessing we’ll find out what those “differences” are (and with whom) at some point. (Variety)

My knowledge of Royal gossip is fairly limited, but I cannot begin to understand why the media continues to be so interested in what the estranged father of Meghan Markle has to say. What insights could he possibly have? (Celebitchy)

I love Viola Davis. Viola Davis out-acted Denzel in Fences and is among the finest actors on the planet. Her Michelle Obama in The First Lady, however, is not good. It’s not that it’s bad; it’s more like she’s taken Michelle Obama’s tics and mannerisms and supercharged them. Anyway, she’s not happy that “critics” are criticizing her performance, although there has been some debate about whether the “critics” she’s referring to are assholes on Twitter or professional critics. As an asshole on Twitter and a professional critic, I take no offense. (DListed)

The answer, Jessica, is yes. It’s always yes. (GFY)

Look at those pants in this stunning Aubrey Plaza profile for Cosmo! Man, Plaza and Tim Burton at his peak would’ve been an incredible combo. (Tom & Lorenzo)

KJ Apa, Jason? Really? Archie? I’m more of a Jughead man, myself. (My New Plaid Pants)

From Jen: Just rip it, Evans. Rip it off your damn face. Ack.

From Andrew, the punchline here is spectacular:

Cary Elwes was airlifted to a hospital after being bitten by a goddamn rattlesnake. I didn’t even know they had rattlesnakes in California. You can click on the link to see the photo of the bite, but also: Don’t. (Twitter)

Again from Andrew: They should honestly run human red carpets this way (thread):

From Petr: This is f—king hilarious. Dude looks like the gym drug dealer in It’s Always Sunny that gets Dee steroids. Hey Dave, hope that child wasn’t some sort of scary immigrant. (Mustaine’s politics are, uh, interesting these days).

Jomidi is a fan of Emily St. John Mandel’s writing, and she likes a good time travel story. Sea of Tranquility hit both buttons for her. "The plot is smartly woven together, the characters are well drawn, and the writing is sharp." Does time travel make a book more attractive to you? (Cannonball Read 14)
