Did you all watch the MTV Movie and Television Awards last night? I didn’t. I used to eagerly wait for that ONE awards show. That was like THE ONE I could sit through the whole thing and not get bored by and I always loved seeing the various “stars” out of their fancy Hollywoody elements. A couple of years ago, though, I think I realized that I was probably not the desired demographic and I stopped recognizing a lot of the “stars”. Also, I stopped recognizing a lot of the words they said. Basically, I think I got old.
I feel like I didn’t really miss out on seeing Miley’s little sister Noah perform at the MTV Movie and Television Awards. From this video, I don’t think she was as terrible as Kaiser thinks she was, but I also think that Noah needs to do a lot more cardio to get in shape for live performances if she’s going to try to sing and dance in the future. She has a breathing problem. Also a poor choice in clothing problem, but that’s neither here nor there. - (Celebitchy)
Yara Shahidi and Tracee Ellis Ross had some cool outfits for last night’s show. I’m not wild about the whole ensemble Yara is wearing in the first picture; it’s a bit overly, but I really like pieces parts of it. I seriously dig Tracee Ellis Ross’s though! - (GFY)
The Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer shown during the awards last night is DAR-LING! Ohmyword! Suh-kyoot! - (Lainey)
Kanye quit Twitter. I don’t know what this means *exactly*, but I do think that it was one of the Horses of the Apocalypse. Like, the 11th one. Or something. - (Dlisted)
I had never heard of the “Radium Girls” until I read this and I’m saddened and sickened by the snakes in the corporate world (and hey, why do we need government regulatory agencies again?) but so grateful to them for their fight for future workers. - (Buzzfeed)
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 clearly won the weekend’s box office, but it put up other good numbers, too. - (Uproxx)
Victoria Schwab’s continuing theme of "humanizing monsters and monstrous humans" would annoy CoffeeShopReader if she didn’t do it so well. This Savage Song focuses on Kate and August, monsters from competing families. Does it sound like Romeo and Juliet? It should, and this one is Romeo and Juliet done right. (Cannonball Read 9)
If you haven’t seen this yet, watch it. Watch it all the way through. I promise you that Tom Holland — the new Spider-Man — will impress the hell out of you. As Donna Dickens also points out, you’re probably going to Google his age to see if your newfound crush is appropriate.
