The impossibly sultry, gravel-voiced Lauren Bacall has left Hollywood for good. She suffered a massive stroke and passed away at age 89. (NYDN)

Russell Brand wrote an eloquent essay about the divine madness of Robin Williams and his “geyser of comedy.” See, I told all of you that Rusty was a good egg. He’s a brilliant madman himself and much more than hair and Booky Wooks. (Guardian)

Netflix’s Daredevil will probably feature an origin story of the Marvel superhero. Filming has commenced, and here are some details that have been revealed thus far. (WG)

Dog the Bounty Hunter has vowed to hunt down MMA fighter and alpha a-hole, War Machine (his legal name). War is on the lam after viciously beating his ex-girlfriend, Christy Mack. She had broken up with War, and he wasn’t taking it. He beat Christy, tried to cut off her hair, and attempted to rape her. Dog told War to turn himself into police within 24 hours or face the wrath. Let’s talk about possibilities for a Black Widow prequel or stand-alone short. I know it seems impossible, ridiculous, and like a tease, which it probably is. Here’s a deleted Cap 2: Winter Soldier scene anyway. (Slashfilm)

The Tom Hiddleston Dragonflies are all aflutter because their man may star in MGM’s Ben-Hur remake. The update will be directed by Zack Snyder and will feature a Garmin watch in the chariot race scene. (Lainey)

We all could use a good laugh this week. Here are the action movie hunks of yesterday bro-ing it up at the Expendables 3 premiere. Ivan Drago and Rocky Balboa are vying for your attention. (CB)

Katie Holmes dressed like a former ballerina (which she is) at the premiere of The Giver. The dress is okay, but the shoes are all wrong. (GFY)

Here’s an explanation of why straight arrows like Neo and Luke Skywalker are a little more interesting than they first appear. Boring? Not even close. (Unreality)

This has been a terribly long week, and it’s only Wednesday. Here are some excellent recommendations that just happen to be antihero-themed beers. (TMS)

Allison Williams (daughter of news anchor Brian Williams) dedicated her Peter Pan flying lessons to Robin Williams. Sad. (Us)

Chloe Sevigny, Paul Reiser, and Dana Delaney will all star in new pilots from Amazon, which is trying to steal Netflix’s thunder. Good luck with that, Amazon. (USA Today)

Jennifer Lopez is promoting a new single called “Booty,” so she decided to show us her butt. (Uproxx)

Remember “the new car smell”? That and several other smells are disappearing from this world. I’m still trying to figure out why I periodically smell Underoos with no explanation. (MF)

Men can be rock ‘n’ roll groupies too. Is this a sign of the times? Maybe it’s just a funny and slightly endearing story. (Nerve)
