Warner Bros. just shelved Ava DuVernay’s New Gods and the Aquaman spinoff The Trench. And while the reasoning for The Trench makes sense — it was kind of a weird idea to begin with — here’s what was said about the call for New Gods:

New Gods, which would have been a sprawling tale, was complicated by the fact that its villain, Darkseid, just appeared as a major foil in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and there was a desire to have space between the latter and any new appearances.

That sure sounds like the Snyder Cut did Ava dirty. (THR)
