I’m sure more will be said in the morning, but it wouldn’t be right if we capped the day without acknowledging this much-needed and long-overdue moment: Derek Chauvin has been found guilty of the murder of George Floyd. As you can tell by the look on his smug face above, Chauvin — like most Americans who have sadly seen way too many of the trials break the wrong way — clearly expected to walk. Thank f*cking God, he will not. Is there more work to be done so a verdict like this is no longer a miraculous event but a common occurrence? Absolutely. But for now, in a time when wins are at a premium, take a moment to bask in this rare occasion where a sonofabitch got what was coming to him. (CNN)
