Adele looks flippin’ fantastic, but that’s not the main thing. The main thing is that she got to see THE SPICE GIRLS and she clearly enjoyed the crap out of herself! - (Celebitchy)
Tony Robbins has always creeped me out and now every new detail that comes out about him and the way he treats his “followers” makes me wonder how he’s managed to hide in plain sight for so long. - (Dlisted)
Two years ago, Brian wrote about Ebony not paying their freelance writers and now Ebony Magazine has allegedly fired its entire online editorial staff, without paying them what they’re owed. - (The Root)
There was a viral garlic peeling “hack” going around the other day and turns out, it doesn’t really work. Womp womp! - (Lifehacker)

The pass rate for women is higher than for men for the first time in seven years on a medical school entrance exam in Tokyo - WooHoo! What’s that? After they stopped rigging “[…]exam scores for more than a decade to favour male candidates, citing concerns that women who went on to become doctors would leave the profession to have children.” Fucking hell. - (The Guardian)

We have not weighed in on AOC’s concentration camp remarks, because I think you all probably know where we stand. Chuck Todd did weigh in, however, and Chuck Todd is a moron.
Ocasio-Cortez's comparison of ICE detentions to concentration camps did border detainees "a tremendous disservice" #MTPDaily

"She said she didn't use those words lightly," Chuck Todd said. "Well, neither did I." pic.twitter.com/5CIOfWn7BQ
I am curious at what point the situation becomes sufficiently "shameful" that Chuck Todd will allow us to use the term "concentration camp." Is it based on the number of people there? Number of deaths? Length of average detention? The conditions? Degree of access to courts?

This makes no sense - in one breath, Chuck Todd concedes that @AOC herself says she wasn’t referring to Nazi death camps, but in the next breath he condemns her for invoking “Nazi concentration camps” - which she didn’t. As he himself conceded only seconds earlier. Sigh. https://t.co/fkuC9uuvsn

I’m really bothered by this story. I mean, the first part is obvious: Giving meth to a squirrel is bad. But the part that’s bothering me is: They let the squirrel go free - with no meth or any idea what a squirrel rapidly detoxing from meth goes through or does! - (HuffPo)
This inspired a good half-hour of conversation in our Slack today:

NewlyWest found every part of Sara Ackerman’s The Island Of Sweet Pies and Soldiers beautiful. Set in Hawaii during WWII, the book is part mystery, part romance, and part family drama. "By the end, I was so engrossed that it was a bit of a mourning when I had read the last page." What was the last book you were sad to finish? (Cannonball Read 11)
