Following the publication of a Rolling Stone article about the last days of Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins, quotes from Red Hot Chili Peppers’s Chad Smith and Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron started dominating headlines. According to the two musicians, Hawkins had privately told them he was burnt out by the Foo Fighters’ tour schedule and had told Dave Grohl that he “couldn’t f*cking do it anymore.” Both men were not pleased to see their quotes pulled “out of context” and “sensationalized” by Rolling Stone, and they’ve since released separate statements regretting taking part in the interview. They also apologized to Hawkins’ family and the Foo Fighters for the whole thing. (Pitchfork)
