Former SNL star Tim Robinson is starring in a Totino’s Super Bowl ad this Sunday alongside his Detroiters co-star Sam Richardson. It’s the closest thing to Detroiters we’re ever likely to see in the Super Bowl. It’s brilliant.

Robinson, also of Netflix’s I Think You Should Leave fame, was a writer and performer on SNL from 2012 to 2016, meaning he was there when SNL allowed Donald Trump to host. Robinson did not appreciate that decision, as he told journalist Susan Morrison, who wrote the forthcoming book Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live.

“Lorne has lost his f**king mind and someone needs to shoot him in the back of the head,” Robinson purportedly told someone, who then relayed it to Morrison.

Michaels, however, reportedly did not take Trump’s candidacy seriously in 2015 and thought it was all “a big joke.” Nevertheless, a number of staffers ultimately felt responsible for Trump’s 2016 victory, which continues to haunt them.

In the book, Michaels is quoted—just weeks ahead of the 2016 election—saying, “It’s the hardest thing for me to explain to this generation that the show is nonpartisan. We have our biases. We have our people we like better than others, but you can’t be Samantha Bee.”

But how much better off would the world be if we were all more like Samantha Bee? Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live will be released on February 18, two days after the 50th Anniversary Special.
