Leave it to the folks over at Shondaland to tap into some wish-fulfillment scenarios with the new Netflix series The Residence. Uzo Aduba stars as a bumbling detective, à la Hercule Poirot, who has to solve a murder mystery inside the White House. The cast also includes Giancarlo Esposito, Randall Park, Bronson Pinchot (Perfect Strangers), Molly Griggs (Servant), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Cocaine Bear), Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us), and a long list of other very funny people. The trailer gives zany, French farce vibes, and I dig it.

Who’s dead? I don’t know. (Mumble mumble something that will get me put on a watch list. Mumble mumble.)

The Residence premieres on Netflix on March 20th.

Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, and Amber Midthunder will star in Mark Anthony Green’s directorial debut, Opus. The trailer makes it look a lot like other recent social thrillers The Menu and Blink Twice (Boy, I wish I’d taken Dustin’s advice about watching that one because I was unprepared. Anyway.) But John Malkovich looks to be in peak Malkovich mania here, which might put it over the top. Or might sink it under the weight of his gonzo brilliance.

Opus opens in theaters on March 14th.

If you have a fear of heights, avert your gaze from the trailer for Cleaner. Daisy Ridley stars in this Rambo meets Die Hard meets Skyscraper thriller about a window washer who … well, you know.

Cleaner also stars Clive Owen as The Bad Guy, and it opens in theaters on February 21st.

For this week’s lagniappe, please enjoy this BTS trailer for The Old Guard 2. It’s been four years since we loved the first one. How will the sequel measure up?
