Amid All the Medical Dramas, a Medical Comedy Emerges

St.Denis Medical on NBC at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. I’ve seen so many promos for this show while watching old episodes of Homicide that I assumed it had already started. Allison Tolman, David Alan Grier, and Wendi McLendon-Covey star, which is why I had been interested in catching up on it and am oddly dissuaded now that I know there’s nothing to catch up on.

American Experience: American Coup: Wilmington 1898 on PBS at 9:00pm ET.

The Curse of Oak Island on History at 9:00pm ET. 12th season premiere. I understand that there are more profitable grifts out there, and more outlandish ones, but I just can’t help fixating on how ridiculous this one is. They’ve been digging holes all over that damned island for the last 150 years, the only fortune to be found here is the one the History channel is paying the people making this show.
