Black-Panther-Teaser 2 (1).jpg

Yo, I heard September is happening, like, tomorrow or something? Which means we’re one step closer to complaining about seasonal latte flavors and getting a whole lotta new stuff up on our Flix of Net! Before we get to the full list of what’s arriving this month, here’s some top picks to keep your eyes open for:

The Unoriginals: It’s easy to get distracted by the ever-churning content machine that is Netflix, but next month they’re getting some exciting non-Netflix movies added to their platform. Like, oh gee I dunno… BLACK PANTHER?! Or as I like to think of it: “SHURI FOREVER”! That’ll be up on September 4. Then later in the month you can catch up on two other recent films that earned the admiration of the Overlords: Ava DuVernay’s magical A Wrinkle In Time (9/25) and… motherf—kin’ The Hurricane Heist (9/26). And yes, that’s probably the only time those two movies will be spoken of in the same breath.

As for The Originals:

The Other, Lesser Mystically-Powered Marvel Hero: Iron Fist Season 2

I’m intrigued by Alice Eve’s turn as Typhoid Mary, but honestly I’m only gonna be watching for Misty and Colleen. Launches September 7.

The One To Feed Your Obsession With Baby Mark Ruffalo: Sierra Burgess Is A Loser

Get another dose of Barb, Cyrano de Bergerac, and your new internet boyfriend Noah Centineo! Available September 7.

That Cartoon That Makes You Think And Feel Stuff: BoJack Horseman: Season 5

It doesn’t look like Netflix has released a trailer yet, but they did offer up this new image! The new season launches September 14.

That Show That’ll Probably Only Last A Season: Norm MacDonald has a Show

Will it survive, or will Norm end up like Joel McHale and Michelle Wolf (i.e. out of a paycheck after a single season)? The experiment begins September 14!

The One That Looks REALLY REALLY PRETTY: Maniac

We’ve talked about this trailer before. But have we talked about how much we miss director Cary Fukunaga’s man-bun? Not that it has anything to do with this trippy limited series (which debuts on September 21). It’s just something I think about. A lot.

The One About The Dude Who Never Knows When To Shut Up: Quincy

We’ve already established that Quincy Jones is probably the most interesting man in the world, based on his too-honest (bordering on straight dishy) answers in every interview ever. So the question is: will this biographical documentary by his daughter Rashida Jones offer any more fascinating tidbits of celebrity lore? We’ll find out September 21!
