It’s a holiday weekend, which means we’ve got an extra day to… well, sit inside and watch stuff!
Picnic at Hanging Rock — Amazon’s got a new 6-episode adaptation of the classic Australian novel, starring Natalie Dormer (who also has her new film, In Darkness, out now). The miniseries is a period thriller about the disappearance of three schoolgirls who go missing at a — yup, you guessed it — picnic. It looks GORGEOUS.
Ibiza — Wanna see Britta make out with Robb Stark? Gillian Jacobs stars as Harper, a woman who is sent to Spain on a business trip and whose two friends (played by Vanessa Bayer and Phoebe Robinson) decide to tag along for funsies. Richard Madden plays the famous DJ that Harper falls for on the trip, necessitating much partying. At, I dunno, places where people DJ? Are those still “raves”? I’m old.
Tig Notaro: Happy To Be Here — A fresh Tig stand-up special!
Steve Martin and Martin Short: An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life — A night of comedy and musical numbers from these two lovely-seeming gentlemen, who I’m sure are only going to go on to bigger and better things from here. Enjoy watching them at the start of their careers!
(OMG yes, I know who they are)
Half Magic — Three women (Heather Graham, Angela Kinsey, and Stephanie Beatriz) realize that men are the goddamn worst, and empower themselves. The film was written and directed by Graham herself — but honestly, I’m here for Beatriz’s non-Rosa speaking voice.
Neat: The Story Of Bourbon — I’m thirsty, alright?
Lost In London — Remember that weird live movie Woody Harrelson made for himself? No? Well, now you can stream it. Spoiler: it won’t be live.
