'Stranger Things' Releases The Most Underwhelming "Interactive Game" In History

I was at Target the other day, drinking Starbucks and sacrificing my money on the altar of Basic, when I saw a Stranger Things Ouija board. Hell no, I’m not putting that damned thing in my house for any amount of money. But it makes sense. It ties into the show and I understand the appeal.

The same goes for the shirts, the Pop Vinyls, the beer glasses, the EVERYTHING cashing in on the hit show. It’s fun, it’s harmless (except for when the Ouija board calls Toby over for a Stranger Paranormal Things Activity movie), and it’s fun for fans. Do you know what’s not fun for fans? The interactive game just launched by Netflix.

Spoilers if you haven’t watched season 2 of Stranger Things yet.

The game is called “Feed Dart”, which sounds pretty cool, right? RIGHT. Do you have a cat you don’t like? GREAT! FEED DART! I clicked on the link to Feed Dart and:

Oh. That’s it? You upload photos and the Dart the Demodog Baby eats the photo? LAME. There was a real missed opportunity here for a flash browser game where you control Dart as he forages around Dustin’s house for food. Then you have to escape from the basement shelter thing and find food. Then you try to eat people and then fall dead off a wall. THE END. Great tie-in. Netflix, send me a check.

Then again, you can feed Dart this:

I made him grow in a cutscene thing, but you can only ever feed baby Dart. Again I say, LAME!
